WBSJ's very stylish rain boots are perfect for active people. They are loose enough to wear jeans in the boots but fit tight on the ankle to keep from slipping off when working in muddy gardens, or walking in the swamps while bird watching. They have been specially designed to be taken off by stepping on the heel of the opposite boot-a hands-free approach.

 

About the Brand

Wild Bird Society of Japan (WBSJ) is a Nonprofit Organization founded in 1934 in Tokyo, Japan. The goals of WBSJ are: conservation of endangered birds and plants, expansion of the bird sanctuary, and educating people on creating environments where nature and culture can co-exist. The profits are spent on research and projects. WBSJ projects go beyond Japan, to such places as Taiwan, China, and Russia. Branches and Knots is happy to be working with this great organization.

 

Storage

Store boots in a cool, dry location avoiding direct contact with any heat source, extreme cold or sunlight. Do not store folded or creased.

 

Attention

Stop using if a rash or other allergic reaction develops.

Powdery white marks (blooming) may occur in certain conditions. Blooming is harmless and completely normal for natural rubber products.

Wipe off dirt and wash with mild soapy water after use and allow to dry naturally in the shade. Some types of detergent and sweat can cause discolouration.

Due to the nature of rubber, sweat stays in the boots and moistens the socks. Please note that this occurrence is not from leakage.

Due to the nature of the thin material, sharp objects may puncture the boots.

These rainboots are the best fitting, most comfortable, most packable and useful rain boots ever!
I bought the LL size and they fit my long thin feet well. I am a size 9.5 in regular shoes. I also added the insole which is necessary for the boots to fit and function best. They dont squeeze my toes when I wear socks.
They keep me dry on coastal walks, and river trips in the spring.
As a bonus they are easy to remove due to the little tabs on the heels!
I am trying to convenice my hubby to buy some too as they are excellent for travel.
Great lightweight rain boots.
Just be sure to buy the insoles too!

Fantastic product - WBSJ rain boots

I have been wearing barefoot style shoes for years now and have struggled to find any gum boot that has a decently wide toe box, minimal to no heel with a flexible sole and allows for ankle mobility. This boot does it all! I specifically got them for a few functions: wet conditions at outdoor festivals (you can actually dance in these), as well as mushroom foraging, general bushwhacking and marine foraging/beach combing. As the other reviews note, the rubber of the boot is not as robust as your standard gum boot, so care should be taken around pointy or sharp objects. Also, they don't breathe at all so can get clammy if you aren't wearing socks or using insoles.

I would recommend the wool insole if you plan on wearing them in cooler conditions, and sizing up is also suggested. I wear a woman's size 9 and the L was *just* too small for me, I had to size up to the LL, which with the insoles and merino socks, fit just right. Also, the no-hands option to take these off with the extra bit of rubber sole on the inner back heel is genius!

These boots are stylish, comfortable, and versatile, I am extremely happy with my purchase! Great for the PNW.

They fit small

Good boot but if you are thinking of a thick sock you might want 2 sizes up. I ordered 1 size up from my shoe size and they are still pretty tight.
